June 06, 2024 – Wexford Health is pleased to announce that the company recently began providing comprehensive correctional health care services to the City of New Orleans and Orleans Parish. The new contract is for two years, serving approximately 1,100 adult detainees and incarcerated individuals.
Wexford Health is partnering with Louisiana State University’s (LSU) Health Sciences Center – New Orleans to provide the City and Orleans Parish with a forward-thinking strategy in the administration of health care services.
The City and Parish will benefit from Wexford Health’s experience overseeing administration, operations, policies and procedures, case management, reporting, claims payment, off-site scheduling, accreditation, electronic medical records, and all other support functions that define an industry-leading correctional medical program. LSU’s Health Sciences Center adds an extensive provider network, which includes the University Medical Center, outpatient clinics encompassing over 30 specialties and subspecialties, mental health expertise, substance use treatment programs, staffing, training, and dental, pharmacy, and telehealth resources.
