Suicide Prevention Program

Wexford’s suicide prevention framework integrates staff training, daily observation, and post-crisis review to mitigate self-harm risk. It includes both general and enhanced officer training, emphasizing early recognition, communication, and emergency intervention across all facility levels.

Crisis Response and Intervention Program

Available 24 hours a day, this program deploys trained clinicians to stabilize inmates in psychiatric crisis through immediate evaluation and coordination with security. It outlines clear watch levels—continuous and 15-minute observation—to ensure safety and timely care for acutely distressed patients.

Training for Clinical and Security Staff

All staff members receive pre-service and annual instruction in suicide prevention, crisis recognition, and behavioral-health communication. This training cultivates a culture of awareness and equips both clinical and correctional personnel to respond effectively to mental-health emergencies.
