Wexford Health’s PATH (Provider Access through TeleHealth) program is a comprehensive telehealth solution designed specifically for correctional healthcare. Since 1998, we have used secure video and digital technologies to deliver specialty care directly to patients, significantly reducing transportation costs and security risks while improving access to and the quality of care.
Our telehealth services span a wide range of specialties, including emergency care, pre-admission review, psychiatry and mental health, dermatology, infectious disease (HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C), orthopedics, cardiology, and nephrology. We conduct more than 11,000 telehealth encounters per month across our system, with hundreds of thousands of sessions completed to date.
The program is supported by a dedicated Telehealth Department, led by senior clinical leadership, and governed by a comprehensive Telehealth Manual to ensure that virtual care meets the same standards as in-person services. Telehealth providers undergo the same rigorous credentialing and peer review as onsite clinicians and serve as integrated members of each facility’s multidisciplinary treatment team.
Through PATH, Wexford Health delivers timely, secure, and coordinated specialty care that improves patient outcomes, enhances safety, and helps correctional systems manage healthcare resources more effectively.
